The Hunt Continues

Journal Entry: Sat Aug 11, 2007, 9:24 AM
I am currently living in Montreal, Quebec, and finding it very difficult to find models who understand my work and want to be involved with it. The hunt continues, and I would love to photograph beautiful men and women to contribute to my art.

I am negotiating some exhibitions with some NYC galleries, and I am very interested in creating new works for these. I am also being published in a Brazilian Magazine next month, and Bent the Aussie publication and David Leddick's next book to be out spring/summer of '08. So, things are looking up for me, but why is it still difficult to find models? Terry Richardson does it!

Anyways, if you are interested in modeling for me, please send an e-mail to me.
I am constantly working on personal projects, and look for specific types of models for these projects. If you are interested in modeling and donating your body to my art, so to speak, then please e-mail me at mikel@toxicboy.net. Please include: clear headshots, full body shots front and back (nude) and information about yourself such as age, body type, location, and contact information. Height is not a problem, and though my art focuses on male sexuality, female models are definitly more then welcome.
I like my men fit, and my women curvy.

I am currently located in Montreal, but travel to Toronto and New York from time to time. So if you are around those general vicinities, or will be traveling out this way, please feel free to contact me.

Their love lasted for three years straight.
And all they could think of was each other.

But on their wedding day,
One crash would be all that was needed to take it all away.

I understand what you mean about the homophobia thing but honestly I do disagree with you, I find that they way he captures his figures is very well, done, it's not easy to get a good shot of someone (shile completely naked) and it come out well. and the level of artistry that he has in his most recent works is ery good in my opinion, but like what others have said. you do need ot open your mind to the interpretation of the art itself. it seems that you don't see as much of the composition, lighting, coloring and just general difficulty of th most recent photographs.

I also want to say to terribletoxicboy that I wish I could be a model for him. Eh, maybe once I'm in college, next year. I know my parents wouldn't let me, sadly...

newkid161, you are incredibly kind for saying such wonderful words, and defending this deviant. It is everyone's right to be free in whatever way they wish, especially artistically free.

as for those who would dispute the ability of one to be free in their artistic endeavors, or otherwise, you can have that opinion. just keep it to yourself if you're going to say it in a mean and nasty way.

Even if this person didn't appreciate your comment, I did. It was very well-thought out.

wow, i'm shocked.

You didn't have a pointless comeback for me like you did for all the others.

Is this because you can't be bothered or because you actually took on board what I had to say?

Dude I must tell you, I envy your gallery!!
DA needs more male erotic artists like you!

Keep up the good work!!

Your work is great. So confronting (as past comments have shown) but still it is able to be confronting in a sensual and electric way.
Keep well, we need to see more.
~newkid161:iconnewkid161: Mar 31, 2008, 5:11:17 PM
It's fair enough to comment on and have you're own opinion about someone's work, but to go so far as to insult the actual person is just immature harassment, and in this case I might add slightly homophobic.

Besides, how do you know he's homophobic? Just because he explores the human form, and chooses to do so without dabbling too much in the common 'g-string in mouth spread legged topless female' department, and would rather explore an area which has not (obviously) been explored to a great extent.

Now don't get me wrong, I myself would take your opinion on board and accept what you think of this work, if it wasn't for the snide and unnecessary remarks about this man's sexuality.

And so, perhaps, a change of phrase in your opinion is needed?

Have a nice day, hope your exams went well.

"that means that since your work is comprised of male nudes, you sway the wrong way, right? and it's also why anne geddes got 25 years to life, right?"

right.

other than that, i dont have time to think of anything to say.

i have exams =p
~soreneliot:iconsoreneliot: Mar 29, 2008, 5:18:32 PM
yes. women and their breasts are a risque element of human nature that have never been exploited before and i really think it would be cutting edge if you challenged people with such a rare form of art.

too bad photographers can only take photos of people whose genitals they want to put in their mouths. that means that since your work is comprised of male nudes, you sway the wrong way, right? and it's also why anne geddes got 25 years to life, right?

Hmm missed the point again I see. I was talking about maturity, not the arts in that sentence.
